Kelly Behn
Toddler Directress
Background
I started at NSMS in the fall of 2005 and have enjoyed every year since. My first 3 years were spent in the half day 3-6 classroom as an assistant. I received my infant/toddler Montessori training in 2007 from North American Montessori Center. I have also completed masters and regular classes thru Wellsprings Montessori Training Center. In the fall of 2008 I started as the Toddler Directress. Working with children especially two year olds bring great joy and laughter every day.
I have been married to my husband Jay since 1988 and have two college aged children. Both attended Montessori preschools. I truly believe in the Montessori Method for early childhood learning. I was born and raised in Arlington Heights and currently live here. After graduating from University of North Texas with a degree in clothing and textile design, I lived and worked out East as a children's clothing designer/pattern maker. During the summers while in college, I worked as an aide in a toddler full day Montessori program. This is where I came to believe that the Montessori Method is the best choice for early childhood education. I come from a large family. I have 9 brothers, 4 sisters, and 43 nieces and nephews! One of my favorite things about NSMS is the feeling of a big family. It is a great community to work in.
